This action pretty much killed Reddit for me.

Yup. Also, hello, apropos that this would be my first post here.

This cowardliness bothers me, I pity Redditors that don't have a clue but post or moderate.

Clearly SRS is either supported on the back-end via some penetration into the Admins, has their balls in crushing embrace, or is paying Reddit, via academic donations, for this service. Likely at this point its become an exercise in the order it occurred. I just wish they were forced to admit the ongoing acts, its clear there will never be financial reasons nor moral compulsion for it to stop.

I'm willing to bet it's Alexis Ohanian protecting SRS. He's a board member (who spez pretty much has to take orders from), has openly posted antagonistic comments there, and was a huge factor in the "anti-harassment" rules as well as the admin firings. Hell, he's gone on record spouting the same shit as Pao, which I seriously doubt is a coincidence.

The dude is always involved whenever shit goes down.

I think it's also possible that they realize exactly how damaging it might look if they ban the group that has been publicly seen to be critical of there being racism, sexism, and pedophilia on the site. You and I both know that that isn't what SRS is about, but the media sees SRS as being the group that outed the 'pedophile ring on Reddit!'. If they ban the sub, it will get spun by the media as 'protecting racists, sexists, rapists, and pedophiles'.

I can understand that there would be some hesitance to ban that group out of fear of that backlash.

I think that is only partially the answer to what reddit does. It is true that the people who have been running reddit are generally favorable to the SJW viewpoint. But I think that just makes it more difficult for them to come to the conclusion SRS is really doing something that bad. It can be hard to overcome your bias, after all. At least as strong a reason (since I believe them when they say they are against brigading and doxing) is that they are scared of SRS and the SJW mob in a way they are not scared of racists or pedophiles much less your run of the mill libertarian or conservative.

They've won the battle for reddit, soon they'll be trying to influence the users here as well.

/v/shitvoatsays will be slowly turned from a joke like SRS was originally, to a hub for harrassment like SRS is now.

/v/shitvoatsays was made as a sort of "best of", sort of the opposite of SRS.

The real SRS equivalent on voat is /v/shitvoaterssay and its affiliate subverses, so i'd suggest people keep an eye on those.

It is clearly a double standard that he doesn't have the ability to address. The real reason is "Fathpeoplehate and coontown costs us money, SRS does not therefore SRS is safe."

I honestly don't have a problem with the idea SRS, provided that they stay in their shithole, the problem is that they don't and that they vote brigade and ruin threads.

dude no-one has a problem with the idea of SRS. it's their actions. they literally banned np links. they actively want their members to brigade and to silence any opposing view. they are fascists.

I've seen np links in Reddit a lot, but never known what they are.
Can you explain?

For those not in the loop, you can post a reddit URL with np in it and it does some things;
https://np.reddit.com/r/Funny

Maybe they're using SRS as a test rat in order to develop the technology.

SRS needs to stay. That way, Reddit filth stays at reddit. Reddit will continue to fester in their own filth and "safe spaces"

Unfortunately I don't think that's going matter. He's just a figurehead, like Pao was. The whole company mission is behind his fuckery and they'll just replace him with someone else that will tow the party line.

I think it could matter. It would take a pretty large effort form those opposed. But if large amounts of people started kicking up shit it would have to be addressed. But it would take a large and concerted effort. If 'The SRS Question' hit the front page 6~8 times an hour? Something similar to the FPH uprising. I think it would have to be addressed. Basically, right now the only people who care or are involved are Redditards. This hasn't hit the front page of anywhere else. Kick up a stink like the FPH ban, and I think you could kick that nest hard enough to make it topple over. But a large number of people need to go kick that nest. Which people aren't doing.

Maybe now that voat is incorporating we could establish some sort of contractual obligations protecting free speech. Like a contract stating roughly "in the event ___, ___, or ___ policies are implemented or practiced voat.inc shall be required to pay damages of $everything! to the fund for wayward redditors and other lost puppies."
