Should be a lesson for those here complaining about "spam". It's just a code word for censorship. The community can down vote the "spam".

Spam is a real problem. It's just that mods and admins have arbitrarily changed the definition of spam to suit their censorious purpose. What they censor is NOT spam. It is content. Why they do so is hidden behind private subreddit and irc chatter. But it's safe to assume money is a primary motivator.

Let me guess that said whitelist doesn't include anyone that refuses to tow the SJW line.

It's more like /r/gadgets is and has been a shithole of advertising since its inception. They are restricting posts to only advertisements. Blogs and such might criticize products and we can't have that now can we. How are people going to buy new Windows 10 Surface tablets with all that negativity or "spam" as they call it.
