This is the reddit, a culture almost entirely based on the promising and not delivering. Also did they ever make their update that was meant to mean you wouldn't need RES for the site to be functional?
Double post stickies have been useful, but honestly nothing else. Thread locking is just for lazy mods, modmail muting to get rid of people mods don't like...
Holy crap. I was on reddit today (first time in months) and i saw that thread a read through it. It was on the frontpage. It's insane how bold they've gotten. Even the mods with their damn thread locking itchy trigger fingers. I mean, even if you don't come to voat, why the fuck would you stay there?!

As you can imagine, the sort of persons we ban aren't exactly mature enough to accept their ban quietly and call it a day. We used to have them spam up mod-mail like no tomorrow. Even the 72 hour mute isn't enough sometimes: we had a user come back and post every 72 hours for over a month until the admins finally shadow-banned them.
okay which one of you magnificent bastards was this?

What reddit needs is tools for regular users to expose and oppose corrupt mods. Instead they are doing the opposite, banning user created tools such as the ones you created that expose mod corruption.
I wonder why reddit admins are so pro-mod and anti-user.

Reddit delivered quite a few mod tools. Modmail muting, thread locking, comment/post stickying, etc.
You may not like the mod tools (they can also be tools of censorship) but they did give us quite a few.

Well I'm sure the site's troubles will soon be over.

If they promise not to deliver, what then? :0

It's like dividing by zero. It isn't physically possible.

"Like them or not, they did deliver"
And there was much rejoicing

Silly out-of-control mods.
