https://github.com/PuttItOut/RedWipe

edits all comments to gibberish and deletes - it works, although some accounts with thousands of comments may time out and require a few sessions - but it seems to detect where it left off. ask voat co-founder u/puttitout if you have quesitons about it.

Around 30k for me. I was holding off on deleting it but after the new privacy policy update was announced I decided to wipe it though. Fuck that place.

Reddit is like that group of kids in school (you know the sort)... They think you're cool and include you in their group, as long as you agree with them on everything. Disagree even once and you become a pariah.

Welcome to the Land of the Free.

Once again, reddit's loss is voat's gain.

Change is the only real constant in life. It's cool that you accept that.

Something @Akuta told me when I joined "Here's the thing about voat... The more you upvote, the more you can upvote (and downvote). If you spend your time downvoting, you're going to have a problem because your ccp will drop and you will be limited again.

This is in place to encourage people to think differently here. Downvoting doesn't mean "I don't like what you say" here. It means "This person is not contributing to the conversation." So that pretty reddiquette they talk about over there but don't execute, that's what we're trying to encourage over here. It makes for more stimulating conversation and both sides actually feel heard (which is an important part of free speech)."

I'd like for that logic to apply but some people just don't get it, unfortunately.

Glad to have more commentors on Voat. The more discussion the better!

That is not likely, and that would be very bad anyway. The trend in Western culture is towards belief in the right to be comfortable. That means living on welfare to avoid the discomfort of working, grade inflation and dumbing down of education to avoid the discomfort of studying, eating whatever you want and however much you want so you don't feel the discomfort of hunger, freedom from the discomfort of exertion from exercise, and safe spaces to avoid the discomfort of hearing competing viewpoints and the truth about your poor choices.

Take away the hole that crybullies and members of the outragism culture call home, and you'll just end up with a lot of crybullies and outragists looking for other places to turn into holes.
