Yea, it's empowering to jump ship before the shit hits the fan and everything implodes all at once.

On an unrelated note:

auld fella

Are you Scottish?

Cool :) I used to read loads of The Broons and Oor Wullie comics when I was younger and they used to say "auld" for "old".

This may sound ranty but I just moved over, I'm 14, but I am fully capable of keeping a conversation with people much older than me. An age restriction wouldn't really do anything to increase quality, it would only really reduce quantity, which isn't always an increase towards the former.

Reddit is dying a slow and worthy death.

By what metric? Alex has it as the #24 website by traffic and #10 in the US. http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/reddit.com

As much as I would love to see this (or really any) site come up as good competition for Reddit, let's not delude ourselves into thinking that Reddit isn't still insanely popular.

And it might still be even after a good sized exodus. some people will stay, even knowing all the shady shit that goes on their.

Jesus, look at the browsing locations. I never would have thought there were so many middle/highschool girls commenting on cats during school.

More females on Reddit than males? I find that hard to believe.

There used to be a noticeable shift in the demographics when school was in session, but now they stay online even during class. There's no point in trying to have a conversation anymore. You spend too much time trying to decipher the ramblings of some kids who want to insert themselves and derail the topic. Or better yet, people will pick a side and start brigading the conversation without even reading it.

Yep, I remember it used to be so easy to tell when Summer vacation started.

I'm 15, and I hope these stupid kids believe the mods and admins' narrative, so they stay there and Voat stays the way it is. It sounds very elitist, and I wish it didn't, but it's the truth.

I'm so glad to be here. It feels good to leave a ship before it sinks. Now I can just sit and sip my coco while I watch the rats drown.

But what about all the karma I earned over the years?

I'd suggest you go ahead and mention your former karma counts in your "bio" if it really bothers you that much. Then people can at least still see the number by your name. You could even link to a screen shot if you're really sore about it. But, I say who cares. In all honesty it's just an imaginary number on a screen. It's not a world record breaking high score on a popular video game or something. Besides, people who care too much about their karma are always the biggest assholes. Fuck those karma whores, who needs 'em?

Vargas? Seriously? I don't think so; this post is just one line, and actually makes sense.
