Well I agree with some of the points made. Lately voat is only about SJW and she etc. I don't care about any of them, I just want a place to share cool stuff without censorship!
[–] ThisWeirdIndividual 2 points 42 points 44 points (+44|-2) ago
Search for cool subs then. /v/all is not Voat.
[–] Norm 2 points 29 points 31 points (+31|-2) ago
plus you can easily block subs that you don't like anyways, so it's easy to avoid anything you don't want to see.

/v/all is voat. First impressions are important. We can say it's not about /v/all but fact is people come see the hate speech (that doesnt allow for debate) and think "wow what a closed minded group" and leave. I'd say the majority of us are doing our own thing respectfully, but allowing for subs that don't support freespeech by default to have a spot on /v/ all is some oddly unvoat thing we seem to love. Too many people just don't understand that it's not banning ideas, it's stopping those from being able to supress free of speech.

I spend 2 hours hitting the random button, lots of cool subs, BUT most of them had no posts for 3 months
[–] Frogolocalypse 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago (edited ago)
I agree with him. Hate-filled bigots just found a place that had a wider distribution than normal. It's kind of a 50/50 chance of them being replaced and pushed out by normal people, or this place descends into an echo chamber of morons. I haven't really been looking at this place for weeks because of it. The jury is still out on whether it is getting worse or better.

I do agree that people talk about SJW stuff too much, I have noticed a lack of content on otherwise interesting subs. The best thing we can do about this is just post more in a wide variety of subs.

Just block askvoat and kotaku in action. Apparently fatpeoplehate makes it to the top a lot, I don't know because the first time I saw it I just blocked it.

So, uhh, /v/fatpeoplehate agreed to be taken off the front page for a while in order to assist the growth of the rest of the site. Would /v/niggers be interested in doing the same?
[–] AustNerevar 2 points 21 points 23 points (+23|-2) ago
Yeah, I for one don't want people to associate Voat with racism. They can have their subverse and I would fight against a ban on them if it ever happened, but it always disappoints me when I see racism or bigotry on Voat. We were never about that and that isn't what this place is for. It just gives opponents ammo to paint us a den of bigotry. I don't appreciate being considered such.

[–] wackwack ago
As a frequent /v/niggers poster as well, I would support such a measure.
[–] Staross 2 points 18 points 20 points (+20|-2) ago (edited ago)
Even voat users agree, the front page is quite toxic. I would be surprised if it doesn't affect voat growth:

The fucking invitation only system is what's affecting Voat's growth.
[–] surrealsirloin 1 point 4 points 5 points (+5|-1) ago
Most of the people here are here because their other online communities were shut down by the leftist brigades on reddit or elsewhere. Naturally a lot of the content here is going to be angry ranting and fighting back against that machine.
However, I'm interested in seeing what kind of community we can build in the long term. It feels great to escape the leftist hugbox, and I think a lot of potential users will find that enticing, especially as the tide starts to turn against the cultural Marxist agenda.
[–] pepepepepe 0 points 1 point 1 point (+1|-0) ago
I think that's because most people who would downvoat anything /v/niggers on sight have already blocked it so their posts rise unchallenged to the front page. If you truly don't want to see that content on the front page, it's on you. Don't blame /v/niggers for it.
[–] PiercingAjarDolphin 1 point 24 points 25 points (+25|-1) ago
The SRS brigading is apparently in full effect, a lot of people are just getting downvoated now. This place has turned to shit? Not bloody likely. If any of the fringe groups try and post shit in the defaults, they get their crap deleted. Those cucks are so brainwashed that it's beyond pathetic at this point.
[–] HitlerIsBlack 0 points 6 points 6 points (+6|-0) ago
I keep saying it, the people complaining are the people who contribute nothing and then complain about the quality of the content, pretty sure most of them are SRS, etc. Also, a lot of the racist/sexist content is being posted by SJW's. you think /v/niggers ,/v/coontown is legit racists? No, most of these users are SJW's who want to make white people look bad and bring attention to racism and a few dumb ass racists who don't realize they do more harm than good.
[–] pepepepepe ago
No, pretty sure the /v/niggers crowd is legit and the fake racists are in the minority. Most of them would probably get #triggered too hard by the CSS to even vote manipulate there.
[–] Frogolocalypse 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago (edited ago)
Not in /v/news they don't.
[–] PiercingAjarDolphin 0 points 3 points 3 points (+3|-0) ago
They have flairs apparently, intriguing solution to the problem.
[–] AustNerevar ago
Are you talking about Voat or Reddit?
[–] PiercingAjarDolphin 1 point 9 points 10 points (+10|-1) ago (edited ago)
There's a difference here. On Reddit, you can't run a fringe group now, because you'll be "quarantined" which is a fancy word for being discriminated against because of your opinion. On Voat, you can run any sub you want, with the same rights as anyone else, without having to abide by special rules. (as long as it's legal in the US) In both sites, there's the healthy rule that if you post your fringe crap into the wrong default, it'll get removed, that simple. Reddit on the other hand, has gone way beyond that since now you can be banned in some subreddits for merely posting in a non-sanctioned other sub.
Voat though, has had some subs allow controversial content sometimes, which gets a lot of oversensitive nannies yelling that we're a racist/ misogynist (never misandrist!) conspiracy nut site. I'm happy with that label though, because if it keeps all the fucking soccer moms over at Reddit, where they can post their forwards from grandma, that works a site wide quarantine system. The longer Reddit stays as a catch all for all the authoritarian slacktivists, the better. When people here say they're looking forward to Reddits demise, I just want to give them a slap in the face and tell them to shut the fuck up.
[–] Arotaes_Forgehammer 3 points 21 points 24 points (+24|-3) ago
Good. We don't want them if they say things like that.
[–] Marijuana_Merlin 7 points 12 points 19 points (+19|-7) ago
I stopped when they called content "organic", how the blessed hell's is something posted to the internet in any sense of the word "organic"?
I hate when retards use words incorrectly.
[–] SpaceRosa 1 point 11 points 12 points (+12|-1) ago
Usually when people say that, what they mean is that it happens without being forced. People post what they want and that's how you get variety, instead of multiple people making a distinct, organised effort.
[–] Marijuana_Merlin 3 points 2 points 5 points (+5|-3) ago
I can sort of understand that. But I think another word would be more appropriate.
Saying "Organic" the way they used it just makes you sound like you are just trying to sound intelligent.
[–] FPHrefugee 0 points 4 points 4 points (+4|-0) ago
Well see, when content is a little baby content, they don't put round up on it or any other pesticides, then it grows into a beautiful organic content :)
[–] regularfellar 1 point 0 points 1 point (+1|-1) ago
"roving bands of purist downvoters" I don't even know what this is supposed to mean.
[–] imvii 0 points 11 points 11 points (+11|-0) ago
People who are okay with blocking words they don't want to read should probably stay at the kids table.
[–] Teeder 0 points 10 points 10 points (+10|-0) ago
Luckily, we're here and don't give a fuck what they talk about over there
[–] JunOS 0 points 2 points 2 points (+2|-0) ago
It's not a competition, but were winning.
Also: Talking shit about your competition is a sign of weakness and jealousy.
[–] NateThomas1979 0 points 8 points 8 points (+8|-0) ago
You realize you're making that statement in a subverse that its entire point is to talk about the other site right?
