Please don't reward sites that glamorize SJW ideology and tactics.

Do not link directly to them. Do not click on direct links to them. Always use archives.

Here's an archive:

Emailing advertisers is a SJW tactic? Only a few months ago I employed it for GamerGate.

One is using advertisers to promote censorship of private, anonymous opinions, the other is using advertisers to promote fact-checking, integrity and to call out fabrications in far-reaching media. Gamergate had evidence on it's side, this shit has slander.

On a side note, it's good to see a debate on reddit as to whether Elliot Rodgers was a TRP mod or just user. /s

It's traditionally been an authoritarian/extreme leftist tactic since the 1970s. Saul Alinsky is famous for codifying it in his activism and books. It's been mostly used by them until recently.

You might say GamerGate activists culturally appropriated it.

I'm not exactly trying to defend coontown here but that sub was already banned along with lots of others that reddit suddenly decided shouldn't be allowed. This lady sounds like she wants to ban anyone's opinion that isn't identical to her own. Welcome to the new reddit ladies and gentleman.

She's an asshole that wants all white people to live in trailer parks. If advertisers acquiesce to her stupidity, then they hate white people too. Fuck the advertisers that hate people based on the color of their skin.

Also, there are countless advertisers that will blow these white hating assholes off. Voat should start courting them to hedge against these types of assholes from the get go. We need to be proactive and get advertisers that will not be bent over and anally raped with every SJW demand.

What companies do you know would support voat's users as we are and not feel compelled to respond to SJW lunatics. I think most tobacco, cigar, and alcohol companies would pay to advertise here, with our support of their speech. What about adventure sports stores.

We need advertizing to be tied to subverses to protect the advertisers. If an SJW says look at how you support general voat. The advertiser could say, "No, we support /v/cigars and it users." or /v/ford, etc. "We don't have anything to do with /v/hateforwhatever. We will not alienate millions of customers because who block that site and we support our customers' liberty!"

I think you mean, "Meet the stupid asshole..."

Seriously, if this is what it takes for you to get through the day, you are a dumb fucking asshole.

This is the cusp of the matter

Reddit is also not required to restrict its free speech rights to support our position either. Everyone in this debate – here in the US – is protected from the government infringing on our free speech rights, but the First Amendment does not protect anyone from the private consequences of their speech.

So was it a mistake to move voat to the United States?

It's worse in Europe, many countries have no free speech. Germany had extremely strict hate speech laws, to the point where swastikas can't even be seen in public. Countries in Europe also have decency laws, which are incredibly limiting. Asian countries don't fare much better, like China. South Korea has a law that makes it illegal to use pseudonyms on the internet. Japan has strict decency laws.

America may not be perfect, but it is better than the alternatives. Also, Voat doesn't have to censor. Reddit didn't have to. They made a choice to. In other countries, they would have to remove a lot of content.

No, the US has the best free speech laws and protections in the world.

The best defense to these chilling tactics is anonymity.

No, you're misunderstanding it. The first amendment makes sure that the government can't force voat to regulate speech. What they're saying is that something like voat is allowed to regulate speech if wants and the government has no right to step in.

Even though private companies are allowed to do it, I think it's a sad state of affairs when people don't care, or welcome companies that do it. If people are voluntarily limiting their own speech, then I don't think it's too far fetched to believe that more governmental limitations on speech would also be welcomed and could be coming in the future.

I think this is a canary.

No. The right to free speech means that the government won't prosecute you for hate speech if you call someone "faggot" online, or something. "Private consequences" refer to, say, someone's right to think differently of you for holding a particular opinion, that having certain things on your personal accounts may affect your professional or personal/social life, or even that your employer can fire you for saying something they decide may reflect poorly on them as a company. The government won't send you to jail for expressing particular opinions, but that doesn't obligate anyone to like you if you say something they disagree with.

What a fucking cunt.

She wants to get to pick and choose her neighbors on the Internet?

I wish we could do that in the real world...

You can't fight racism by banning opinions, morons.
