Reddit used to be way worse. 2-3 years ago you'd see the "Reddit is Under Maintenance" screen for a few hours every few weeks. Sometimes it'd be really bad and last for like a day. This is the longest I remember Reddit being down in quite a while.

For the last few weeks, I'd say Voat has been better. I haven't seen any actual downtime on Voat in a while. Meanwhile, reddit is down for at least a few minutes every day. And they actually do go down for a half hour or more pretty frequently, it's just normally at odd hours of the night.

Lately no, but Reddit needs the downtime to apply changes to their systems to support all their new censorship tools and corporate message control.
