He means negative feedback loop as in feeding into a result that he subjectively considers negative.
It's an easy mistake to make for a high school graduate, perhaps, but not a college-graduate, presumably-high-IQ Silicon Valley millionaire.
The SJW virus is eating his brain. It's embarrassing.

That was the status quo, but it wasn't working.
I'd love some honesty about the metric for that. I'd surely view growing into one of the largest websites on the planet to be working extremely well.
