ya i noticed the controlled censorship a long time ago. agendas being pushed. turned me off of reddit long before all this pao business. nice to see something is pushing so many others away now though.
I absolutely want voat to grow because that will mean more content and niche communities will have sustainable user bases, but I really hope it doesn't suffer from the same things reddit did in the name of monetization once it reaches a critical mass.
But are any of us really shocked? Reddit has been actively removing anything TPP related for MONTHS now. Would hate for the masses to get wind of what capitol hill is up to. But I guess thats what happens when a military base monopolizes an entire website.
Disgusting. Deplorable. And I'm glad we have voat.

What's sad is that Reddit was the place where I learned about these things because they were not in the news! If it hadn't been for Reddit, I might never have learned about SOPA.
To the extent and in the manner they are doing it, the only logical conclusion is the mods have somehow sold out to those that want TPP passed. I don't know if that means money exchanged hands or what, but people know big sub mods have real media power and they are utilizing that fact.
Reddit's removal of TPP related news was one of my biggest grievances with them. Seeing the opposite happen here speaks volumes about this site and where it's values lie.
Which sucks because there needs to be actual better coverage of this whole possibly in a major extinction thing. It's no secret that we are losing a lot of species right now on earth, and to me the most important being the honey bee. If honeybees die, the world is probably fucked. People don't understand the value those little creatures have to this planet, but we have the technology to pollinate every single thing on this planet like bees just do. 30% of food crops, nearly 90% of wild plants. Their impact would be felt through deaths of many many species of life.
The videos they used to do in random parts of the world was awesome. Don't know if they still do that... but yeah their news coverage is pretty terrible. Not very objective either.

Pretty cool that Voat is getting bigger and better, poised and ready to eat Reddit's lunch.

To be honest, Vice isn't really a good news source. Not surprising the post didn't do well.

Does anyone knows why reddit is going hard on TPP?
[–] SharonLeeFan 0 points 16 points 16 points (+16|-0) ago
Yes. Reddit is a corporate shill, in website form.

Reddit has business interests and advertisers to support/adhere to.

Reddit seems nice, but it's a significant undercurrent of censorship.

You triggered someone's business interests, didn't you?
