Yeah exactly. Recognizing usernames is nice. It does make for a tighter knit community.

Besides, letting everyone come over will just turn Voat into another negative environment where you're scared to post anything.

That's what subreddits do. Defaults were largely ignorable.

So many of the nice things about reddit were the more niche subs.

But there are some benefits from having more users.
