The best example I saw was when FPH had a picture of Imgur admins/staff in their sidebar in retaliation to Imgur blocking fat-shaming related posts from their front page. Of course there was comments directed towards the staff about their size but it wasn't anything different from any other featured submissions (Tess Munster/Holliday comes to mind).
FPH mods certainly did attempt to keep it concealed in the subreddit and never encouraged brigading of any sort. I haven't seen any evidence to suggest that this incident went outside of the subreddit but it very well could've.
Because that's the point in where I think it got personal for the Reddit team, as Imgur was made for Reddit after all, and not long after that all happened is when FPH was shut down by Reddit Admins.
It's a shitty excuse to ban the subreddit but I suspect that's one of the main reasons why they're saying that FPH targeted people off-site.
