Her detractors disagree with the quality of her arguments and methods of forming conclusions. The same philosophy presented differently is ok with them.

Fun Fact: Your arguments and methods don't have to be perceived as good quality for you to be considered a philosopher.

Ayn Rand is the Thomas Kinkade of philosophy. Sure, Kinkade sold a lot of posters, but within the art establishment very few take his work seriously. Likewise Rand has sold a lot of books, some of them philosophical non-fiction, but arguably her most popular are her fiction novels. In the academic realm, where philosophy currently lives, very few take her work seriously.
