Rules are selectively enforced and ignored to maintain the narrative. Have you figured it out?

That's also bad.

Why is anyone still on that shitty site? I don't get it. Are people really so attached to their karma that they're willing to stick to a site that shamelessly censors discussion?

Because it matches their worldview. They just found hundred of thousands of people who agree similarly to them and a system designed to protect their view. If anyone questions their perspective or poked holes in their logic, they know they will be shouted down by hordes of others and banned by "authority". Just furthering their belief that everyone thinks the way they do.

It takes a strong person to be willing to have their beliefs challenged by others and still stand by what they believe. The problem is most people are afraid to have their values challenged.

Yeah. Most people just want to curl up with their cheeseburgers and diet coke in a nice warm corner of their little echo chamber, resting assured that the thoughtcrime of dissent will be swiftly punished.

Who cares about karma? I see it solely as a rough indicator of someone's participation in the site. Don't care about mine at all. Yay so many points! Can't wait to trade them in on a plastic spider ring and a mini-slinky.

For me one of the limiting factors is that I can only upvote 10 posts per day on Voat. I am generally a lurker that my karma was 1 post a month that would get maybe 20 upvotes at a time so I don't care at all about the karma I just want to upvote people that posted quality opinion or discussion before I got there. Being limited on who I can upvote unless I post more is very frustrating but on the flip side of the equation I have obliterated my Reddit subs to the point where it's just my random interests that haven't really developed here yet instead of the Ellen Pao/Gay marriage/Confederacy Racists shit that has finally pushed Reddit from undesirable to insufferable.

Spending more time here than there these days but I still haven't fully said fuck you to that pariah site but I want to.

Despite the general move over to Voat, Reddit's still a much bigger site. That means I can find a lot more discussion and content on, for example, Touhou, on /r/touhou than on /v/touhou. Still doesn't stop me from coming here and using adblock over there, though.

I generally try to think of reasonable, non-malicious things that could cause things to happen. The only things I can think of:

  1. A different mod.

  2. They learned from excluding TPP.

The most probable, though? Most major news outlets didn't cover it.

If they learned from excluding TPP they would have stopped excluding TPP.

There is a wonderful article in Wikipedia about Gamergate. Anyone reading it will almost certainly be given a complete skewed version of reality. This is Wikipedia's problem. IF there is a an artificial reality, a forced narrative that's untrue, and it has been fed to the masses through conventional media, then Wikipedia has its reliable sources and thus it is sourced as fact. You must see the issue here. If there are active communities working to spin-doctor the narrative to something that is appealing to report on, then the people reporting will report on it. Make the narrative unfalsifiable and suddenly a few news outlets will become the justification for Wikipedia. Cite Wikipedia and you are not really making any proof to a claim. The more I see about Wikipedia's editing process and what they will reject or accept, the more I shake my head. You may see it as something more, but I dont

Sometimes, I feel like the only person in the world who doesn't care about gay marriage or /r/news.

Just spam all the submissions about politics with reports, we obviously need to help the moderators see this clearly

The only reason I still want my reddit account at this point is to keep a record of the subs I subscribed to, so I can find replacements here.
