While I agree with you, the thing that seems absent from a lot of these discussions is the role of the individual subreddit moderators. A lot of these issues seem to get conflated. In reality some of the problems are site-wide and stem from the way Reddit is being run as a company, and others are due to the way individual mods choose to moderate their own subs.

its not though. good and trustworthy mods are hard to find so its not unusual for one person modding formultiple defaults. go ahead and check, rarely do they only moderate one subreddit. thats not even mentioning how they can literally hijack your subreddit and have you removed by saying youre an inactive mod.
