It's creepy how similar Reddit has become to 1984

I feel like the us gov't is more like 1984 .... reddit and other censored 'news' outlets are more like brave new world.

Remember when reddit helped start occupy and the anti sopa movement? What a toothless corporate whore it's become, disgusting.

While I agree with you, the thing that seems absent from a lot of these discussions is the role of the individual subreddit moderators. A lot of these issues seem to get conflated. In reality some of the problems are site-wide and stem from the way Reddit is being run as a company, and others are due to the way individual mods choose to moderate their own subs.

its not though. good and trustworthy mods are hard to find so its not unusual for one person modding formultiple defaults. go ahead and check, rarely do they only moderate one subreddit. thats not even mentioning how they can literally hijack your subreddit and have you removed by saying youre an inactive mod.

ya that's one of those things that really make me feel betrayed by reddit. They are manipulating the news for a certain agenda now, just like our garbage mainstream media.

You're telling me - I just scrolled through the top half of a comments page about the Supreme Court ruling regarding the ACA. The kool aid is flowing like the Amazon over there right now.

I've started reporting them and linking to this screenshot. My guess is I'll be banned before they do anything.

reporting the mods of /r/news or reporting submitters of 'political content'? Because that's not very clear

I'm reporting any post on /r/news that contains 'political content'.

Everything on Reddit is agenda driven. I am just not sure why suddenly they have shifted about the TPP...I would think it would fit their approach well...

Of course, I feel the goalposts have shifted over the past few months/year so it is probably just that.

Well, for the longest time they were bad at doing that. They look much more pro this year. Wonder how it is affecting their bottom line...

The owners of Reddit are PRO TTP. MOST of the TTP is about regulating the internet! (only 5 of the 29 chapters are about trade, the rest are about the internet) What do you expect after the SOPA fiasco... Now that the FCC has direct control the goverment is making more internet laws, they just don't want to give use a chance to outrage about it.

This will eventually be used to make "hate" speech illegal on the internet... something Reddit definitely supports.

Good point, Reddit under Mao (sorry, Pao) is scarier than comcast, especially since their content reaches so many people!

What? News is always political! I mean that IS half the news.. Politics! What are they smoking to think anyone dons't see though this thinly veiled attempt to control dissenting views?
