this is what ive always said. there's no need for mods or banning as the users can decide what they want to see

To me it just doesn't make sense...

Like the thought process behind it is, "I am some objectively moral person I shall delete the threads that will harm the eyes of my community base and protect, STAND BEHIND ME!" (read in a deep, mighty, self-righteous voice).

And the plebs cannot decide what they want to see... Sad really.

A good mod is nothing more than a janitor. They go in, delete the advertisements, make sure no one posts cp, and let the community run itself.

Occasionally they should seed content if the sub is dying, just to keep it alive.

In my eyes there is a need for mods on subs, for multiple reasons of which most are to facilitate the users and uphold sub rules. Not to dictate the users and push your own agenda like above....

One can make a case for the former, but the latter? Only takes one person to copy and paste something like spacing abuse like the below

into some comments and replies for people to realize that, hey, maybe we should invest in some moderators to get rid of those assholes.

Reddit is an exercise in groupthink. The more they control it, the less interesting it is for thinking people but the more valuable it is for marketing.

Looks like the corps learned from the digg exodus when it was sold to the corps. Except at digg, Kevin didn't censer anything or anybody when the front page was filled to the brim with cross posts from reddit as a protest to the sellout.

The foreign government that has purchased reddit is not used to being questioned. They tend to panic in the face of free speech.

I could have sworn civcraft was an sjw cesspit.

It is kind of... I wouldn't say they have the most SJW values...

But it is ran in a very similar fashion from leftists / SJWs.

As in the admin team is very biased, so when they release new content it is very obvious to benefit a certain type of player. And any criticism is reflected with "unpaid developers". And then ontop of that, the entire staff team is autistic, so yea very relateable to SJW.

They say I was banned for throwaway account even though months back I modmailed them and said "Hey I deleted my old account this is my only account now, I'll be using this" and they were perfectly fine with it no ban...

But then when i criticize how they operate all the sudden now the fact that I am on a new account is an issue. I told them there's no point in unbanning me I don't wish to further participate in the game or subreddit. To which they replied "Ok".

I did sort of the same thing with /r/politics around three years ago. I messaged the mods and told them all to get stuffed and a few other things that hopefully made that mike666 dickhead (or whatever their u/n is) cry like a baby. Hahaha, ahhh, the memories.

Good for you.

Why do you put "peace..." at the end of all of your comments?

Disgusting. This kind of shit is exactly why I came here. It's Utopia in comparison. Can't wait for Voat to gain all of its latent functionality.
