Manually "adjusting" the results algorithm is a form of soft censorship. Making information harder to find is almost as effective at keeping it hidden from the public conscious as removing it outright. If not more so, because shunting something down in a results page doesn't produce the same kind of Streisand effect as removing something outright.

YouTube, owned by Google, is censoring this video that makes fun of reddit. Two hours ago it was on page 1 for search word: Reddit. Now it is on page 4.

So in other words, it hasn't been censored, it's still there, it just isn't as popular?
