OK I finished it up. My initial complaint was the result of being in the middle I think. While there was a lot going on I thought they wrapped it all up pretty well. All the acting was well done, the characters good, good writing, action... it was all pretty well done. As far as the big ceramic pot, I think I agree w TheBeautifulOnes' take on it. All together I enjoyed it a lot. I'll be curious to see comic readers take on it once they have watched it and voiced their opinions.

Shit was gruesome and violent yo

Yep, the were expectantly extreme but not so much that I didn't enjoy it.

I'm up to ep9 last night. Gonna watch the rest in a little bit and come back to this thread. I like it over all. My only complaint might be that there are a lot of sub plots going on. Maybe too many. It just seems less 'tight' than S1. But I haven't finished the season, so maybe it'll all wrap up well. Overall I like it a lot.

I'd especially be interested in hearing back if you still think there are too many sub-plots after you've finished watching all the episodes. I hadn't really thought about it... however I'm not the world's biggest Daredevil fan, but I did recall feeling slightly bored in a few scenes in the first season, however the second season did keep my attention throughout. I'd also love to know if you agree or disagree with the spoiler-censored criticism I added to the main post message, after you've finished watching all of the episodes.

I'll say that there was certainly a lot going on this season. If you ask me, I got the impression that

There was definitely a lot going on this season, but I think it worked out alright. My only sticking point is that this season of Daredevil seems to set up the launch of multiple stand-alone series. We already know a Punisher spin-off is in the works, and I think there's talk of now. Combine that with the Luke Cage spin-off, and AKA Jessica Jones' inevitable Season 2, and that's a LOT of Marvel properties to follow just on Netflix alone. And so far both Daredevil and AKA Jessica Jones also share the same gritty tone. I'm not sure I can be interested in four plus series that are that heavy.

I'll be back after I've watched it all. I am not a comic book reader either, so I'm just coming at it from a film media viewer and a reader of text books. I have no knowledge of the comic book history of the characters or story line myself.

But we have two love triangles going on. There are a lot of characters. Punisher, Electra, Stick is back, King Pin is back after a bit. The trial w the DA and some kind of conspiracy involving the cops. There seemed to be some sort of MIB mentioned near the beginning. Flash backs. There's just a lot going on.

I stopped at Episode 5 last night, but I'm about to pick it back up this morning. So far, I've been really impressed with both the Punisher and Elektra. I also loved seeing the hints that showed us !

About Elektra, though-- I know from the Daredevil and Elektra movies that there was a big kerfuffle about how she was portrayed. Regrettably, I'm not that familiar with Elektra's character beyond the movies and the Daredevil series. Is her portrayal in the Netflix series truer/more accurate, or is it a wholly different take, too?
