Yay. But mid knee is where it's at.

Yay. I had this same question at the beginning of this summer. Somewhere I read from a females perspective that long baggy shorts simply make guys look sloppy and immature. Here's an article that helped me decide. http://www.primermagazine.com/2011/spend/primers-complete-visual-guide-to-mens-shorts

According to this site most of my shorts are "too short" but I have never had a woman complain that I'm showing too much leg, and like I said to turd_miner (lol), attracting women is part of the reason I like to dress well. In fact, I think each of those "correct" examples look bad, but that's just me and there is no "correct" length, it's all subjective. Of course when we first learn to dress well we follow "rules" so we can figure out why things go well together but in the end length should come down to what looks good on you. Shorts with a short inseam can seem daunting to the newly well-dressed so generally we tell them to start right above the knee and go from there.

Depends on what kind of legs you have doesn't it?

This is definitely a lot of it but really it comes down to what you feel comfortable in.

Mid-thigh shorts have been around for a while and are/popular with the stereotypical frat guy, some hipsters, and those with amazing legs. I am not including athletic wear since I am assuming you are talking more of the chubbies kind of shorts.

I personally, prefer mid-thighs. My knees get sweaty in the back so having them more exposed helps keep them cool and dry. Plus I have always felt that if shorts go below the knee they basically capris and that style typically frowned upon, at least in my area and I always thought were restricting and uncomfortable.

That being said there is definitely a way to make it look good and be functional and it is a personal preference. If you feel comfortable and like the way you look, then you are pretty much fine.

Dude. Mid thighs are SUPER short shorts. Nobody wants to see that much of your thigh if you're talking legit mid thigh.

This is terrible advice. I have had more than enough women tell me they like seeing legs and attracting women is part of the reason I like to dress well. If you don't like showing your thighs that's completely up to you but please don't tell people not to wear something just because you're afraid of seeing some other guy's thighs.
