If you like the theatre, then I thoroughly recommend seeing a show or two. You'll be able to get last minute tickets at a slight discount in Leicester Square from TKTS. If you enjoy Shakespeare, try to get tickets to the Globe - it has a fantastic atmosphere, especially for first time goers.
As @klongtoey mentioned, there are plenty of walking tours. London Walks potentially has the biggest range, but if you enjoy the historical aspects more, I recommend going on one of the Old Map Man's tours.
There are many obvious tourist attractions (the Tower, the Eye, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, and so forth), but one of the hidden gems that I recommend to people (especially those interested in the history of London) is the Old Operating Theatre in the garret at St Thomas Church.
Best of luck with your trip. Sorry that my advice came so late.
Hey no problem man! This trip has been awesome! I did Tower of London, walked by Buckingham Palace a million times but never went in, went to the Churchill war rooms, some food market. Roamed the city for hour on end, and even ended up in Amsterdam yesterday. Tower of London was SICK!
