This is such a cool hobby. Like, maybe not the most useful though, are there really any legal uses for this knowledge?
(honestly curious)

Use wise some of it is pretty impractical but some is practical. Raking is very efficient and can open many low grade locks quickly. I think of locks as a puzzle more than a lock, and personally follow the ethics listed on the sidebar. I live somewhere its not super legal to own the picks, so I keep it on the lowdown and just pick locks i own in a vice.

So in short, not really, some pretty illegal uses could be gleaned from the information. But its free info on the internet so.

then not only can you pick locks, but you can shim some, which is a fast means of opening locks that allow for it. as well as bump keys which are extremely useful for all sorts of locks. but some newer designs take those into account and its much faster to attempt to destroy the lock(not very easy means) or just not bother with it at all.

I'm all out of upvoats, but thanks for the info :)
I've always found it interesting, is the picks expensive if it's something I'd try out?
