I was somebody who got into Modest Mouse around the time of Good News, and upon going back to listen to Lonesome Crowded West, I really didn't like the album at all upon first listen. But the album and its' style really grew on me. These lyrics are really interesting, a good way to frame/ tell the story of money driving things, IMO.

Modest Mouse has been a favorite of mine for quite a while, and while this song isn't one I'd particularly pick out of LCW as one of my favorites individually, its place on the album really make it shine. It's a cold, sobering wind down towards the end of things. Thanks for posting, I really should give this album another go through soon.

I can absolutely listen to the whole album front to back and be pleased the entire time. Honestly, the song was fitting for the mood I was in when I submitted and wasn't a shot at picking something I considered to be the most appealing on the album, that honor would go to Polar Opposites or Cowboy Dan.
