No static IP. I'm using DHCP but ill try giving it a restart when when it happens again and report back.

Technically, you don't have to wait. You can reset it whenever you want, then wait. If it happens after that, this wasn't the answer. If it doesn't, then we fixed it.

sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart This did not help but that may be because isc-dhcp-server doesn't seem to exist in init.d. I just get "command not found"
