see what ifconfig says for the interface when that happens. Maybe you're getting an address but bad DNS?? In Network Settings > interface name > IPv4 (or ipv6, i'm not judging), you should be able to set it from "Automatic (DHCP)" to "Automatic (DHCP) Addresses Only). That will allow you to put in your own DNS servers. You could try google's 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
