I often install Linux on my computer but my reasons for doing so are philosophical rather than practical. Other than security and the update system, absolutely nothing in Linux is advantageous over Windows. Games run worse, graphics in general don't work right even if you use the proprietary drivers, dependencies conflict and some bugs remain unresolved for years or even decades. I love Linux, but a lot of these things make it difficult to use as a day-to-day desktop environment.
