Don't most Ubuntu based distro's come with a GUI package for mounting, partitioning, etc as standard?

If not, then CLI "sudo apt-get install gparted"

Yes ive tried many things and gparted is a useless tool because it doesnt create a partition that tells a computer how to read the drive. Im guessing that's the problem so im going on debian live and actually formayying the thing.
