Yes ive tried many things and gparted is a useless tool because it doesnt create a partition that tells a computer how to read the drive. Im guessing that's the problem so im going on debian live and actually formayying the thing.
Lel, SSDs do mount, I boot from one. You just got something weird happening. You should head over to IRC, but don't act like the developers own you as answer like you implied in the title.

Don't most Ubuntu based distro's come with a GUI package for mounting, partitioning, etc as standard?
If not, then CLI "sudo apt-get install gparted"

There are GUI based tools for mounting, formatting, and partitioning external devices, including SSDs.
Gparted and Gnome Disks are just two that come to mind.
