I turn my headlights on whenever I start my vehicle.

Just a little extra noticeability.

I think most cars have day time running light stock.

Also it’s required by law to have headlights on if it’s raining

Not in all states.

That's definitely a law in Louisiana but I don't believe it is in Texas. I agree it should be nationwide.

Pretty sure it is in Texas unless they got rid of it in the last 10 years.

Ah it’s just suggested by the dmv but not required unless visibility is less than 1000 feet

"Sir do you know why I pulled you over?"

no?

"Sir its drizzling outside."

What do you mean?

"You have to turn your headlights on when its raining"

Its not even rain, it was drizzling...

"Yea,and within that time you did not have your headlights on, now I'm going to get you a ticket"

Usually the law is written to require headlights when your wipers are running.

Most normal human definitions include drizzling as raining.

In some countries they legally require you to have your headlights on at all times. In others your car must have daytime running lights which are automatic. Meaning that they cannot be turned off by the driver. They're usually not as powerful as the normal mode.

Still powerful enough that when I drive down to the States, I get a bunch of people flashing their lights at me to let me know that my lights are on.

New York State Law, anytime wipers are on headlights must be on too. It's a Police State, there's a law for everything

Rain-X devotee here. I don't, and see better.

And do not turn on flashers. South Florida has this as an epidemic. Many drivers are not from countries with sound infrastructure and apparently this is a common practice in those countries. Terrible in the rain when people use them and switch lanes randomly.

I live less than 100 miles from the Florida state line, and emergency flashers are a problem here. I kid you not, I just had this conversation with two coworkers yesterday. People here like to use them to feel free to park or stand in fire lanes, not just when speeding in a rainstorm. I've turned mine on before too in a heavy downpour when I can't safely see the car that was just 50' in front of me, but I slow down and stay to the right. I stay to the right anyway, but that's a whole 'nuther rant.

Omg this. I find myself yelling at other drivers on the road from my own car knowing full well they can't hear me...

Mine pop on automatically if it's even a little dim out.
