The city workers and higher ups need to be arrested for this kind of shit. We throw people in prison for far less.

Arrested is an odd way to spell executed.

Actually, I'd be in favor of going back to real property ownership as a voting requirement.

People need to realize that the (((gubment))) is just people. People who decided it was a good idea to do this and had us pay to go out and set up those cameras.

There is a weird sense of power these city counsel people get and their disconnection from their immediate neighbors. I wouldn't set up a trap to take money from anyone I knew, but they are totally okay with it.

Is there a way to donate to his legal defense fund?

Top kek, for sure. This guy is a true fucking patriot. Just like when the British decided to tax us more and we said, "Fuck your tea, cunts." Bravo

My city is guilty of this scam also. Found out from a friend who got a ticket when the light wasn't red. If you just pay and don't fight, they won't fix it. He was going to contest it so they dropped it.

The fact that if you put up any kind of fight whatsoever they just drop the fine shows how little legal and moral ground they have for assessing the fine in the first place. Bullies expect you to roll over. They stop picking on you the moment you try to fight back. The government in this situation is acting in the role of the bully. Disgusting.

That's true my friend. They can adjust the signals and cameras speed and make an absurd amount of money and when enough people complain they can act like it was a malfunction. Say sorry and find another gimmick. That's not so much a bully as its outright robbery. If you think about it, that's what the majority of government specializes in. Taking your money and threatening you. I'm giving a lot of thought to how I can get off the grid.

That makes sense, in my city the charge is so small that most people figure "eh wth..." and just pay. If you fight it however, it is not worth gumming up the city courts even more.

Exactly. They would rather lose a few bucks from you, than having the bad PR and all the money you spoke of from people who don't care or are scared of the man!
