21.73 an hour, 40 hours a week, 50 weeks a year. what's that come to? 43,360 a year before taxes. good luck living in a major city on that.
it REALLY should be that yearly, 73,000 before taxes should be minimum. heck birmingham alabama costs 40k a year to live whereas manhattan is more like 79k minimum.

That is a completely different argument anyway. Minimum and liveable are not the same thing and shouldn't be.

well, the argument that they "SHOULDN"T BE" the same thing is a completely different argument.
are you suggesting that an artificially centrally controlled economic system SHOULD put people in such a position that they can't afford to live in their own fucking country on their own two feet? that a house of 4 needs at least 2 workers with about 1.2 jobs each to afford the minimum?

minimum wage is tied to standards of living and cost of good index lol indirectly in how it's calculated currently.
