Long story short: Lena Dunham adopted a dog, which she used for PR purposes and landed her articles in the New Yorker and a photo spread in Vogue. After a few years, she gave the dog away, claiming:
On June 21, the Girls alum shared on Instagram her "heartbreaking" decision to give away Lamby to an "amazing professional facility" in L.A. to be cared for by someone "educated in a rescue dog’s specific trauma." Dunham noted that "Lamby suffered terrible abuse as a pup," which "made having him in a typical home environment dangerous to him and others" and she and boyfriend musician Jack Antonoff "needed to be responsible to ourselves, our neighbors and especially our beloved boy." They also needed to save their home, as the dog "ruined floors and couches and our life."
Problem is, the dog shelter she adopted the dog is saying the dog wasn't at all abused before she adopted it, stating:
At the time of his adoption by the star, the dog was just 1 "nearing 2-years-old" - and he didn’t have a history of being aggressive... "When she adopted the dog from us, it wasn’t crazy."
Further, the animal shelter manager makes Dunham sound like a thoroughly horrifying human being in how she describes what sounds like a thoroughly screwed up person (Dunham) not being able to understand dog ownership or that a dog isn't just an accessory.
Lena has previously said the dog's aggression started immediately. In the New Yorker piece, she wrote that despite Jack's allergies to dogs, she adopted Lamby anyway. Things were fine at first - because Jack wasn't there - but the first night the singer met the dog, the dog bit him. In 2014, she posted an Instagram photo of her blood-stained panties after she said the dog bit her in the rear. She tweeted that it was the second time Lamby bit her (both times the dog became upset because Lena was "sobbing"). After the incident made headlines, she posted again about how the "special-need rescue dog" was working with "an amazing trainer." The BARC rep said, "It's just hard to believe the dog was nasty when she took Lamby to every green room with her when Girls was still a thing 4 years ago."
So, Dunham is a selfish pig woman who lies constantly and projects about A DOG having "special needs" and being "abused" to explain away why her pet may be poorly-behaved and explain away why she got rid of it after it served its PR purposes. Yikes. Anyway, thought some people would appreciate yet another telling story about how Dunham is a goddamn inhumane monster.
