I'm all out of upgoats for now or I'd let you have one Kiwikku.

I do have one question about targeting Reddit though?

Is the goal challenging their narrative that they are banning harassing subs and shutting down free-speech, or is the goal to push for more banning and a larger exodus from Reddit?

Show advertisers instances of hate on SRS/Ghazi. The admins would never should those down and would lose money unless they A. start banning progressives, B. realize free speech is more important and allow all political thought

It seems to me that an attack on reddit isn't particularly valuable. Pao's actions are going to spur that kind of exodus, so the only thing we need to do is wait for another FPH to happen. And it will happen; Pao is too censor-happy to avoid doing it again.

I think we should focus on Polygon. They've actually been doing damage, and we actually have a strategy for taking them down.

All of Vox Media is our enemy.

They're kind of like Gawker in that regard, the difference in motivation is the Gawker's in it for the money, Vox is in it for ideology.

Vox has more respect from normal people, has pissed less powerful people off, and overall is in much better shape except for one fatal flaw.

It's never been profitable, oh there's some quarters where they made money, but their business model is basically run off a 90s tech start-up playbook and they would have gone bankrupt a long time ago if VCs didn't keep shoveling money to them (they had a big payday back in July 2014), before GamerGate they were closing the gap but since then they've falling below what they were before.

Even before August they didn't have much of an idea of how to become profitable, and now they're screwed.

Vox should be a priority just below Gawker in terms of "burn it all".

A smaller target with a defined series of objectives and tasks is the best way to go IMHO. A victory would be huge for morale at this point.

So a smaller target that we can affect, an end goal, and clear steps and strategy for how we get there.

I asked this elsewhere, but I'm a bit out of the loop, so can someone gimme a rundown on these email campaigns and how to participate?

It definitely is. "We ban behaviors, not ideas" felt like a lie to me from the beginning.

How do we acquire these sponsors' contact info?

I don't have any sympathy for redditt, but we may want to tread carefully on the boycott front. KIA (reddit) is still a big source of gamergate info for a lot of people. Not everybody will make it over to Voat if KiA is banned. Redditt will ban KiA if it is involved, even second hand, with an e-mail campaign against its advertisers.

I would suggest starting slowly with the boycott goals, until things start rolling again. Maybe go back to contacting advertisers on Kotaku, Polygon or Gawker

In my Introduction first post, I opened up comment on Reddit's behavior of preventing board-certified physicians from active participation in political discussion on healthcare.

Any physicians or scientists participating in the AMA sessions on Reddit are making a huge mistake with their careers and their reputations.

I'd like to voat for an Intel campaign again. We need to get them to stop funding FemFreq

Didn't AMD just come out as pro-gg?

edit: I accidentally triple posted. And AMD is still neutral, they just took a jab at the gamers are dead hitpieces source

I really want to like AMD. Intel is a pretty shitty company overall, but they do have the best CPUs and the best open source drivers for their GPUs.

What we really need is for x86 to die. I have big hopes for the lowRISC project, but they are just starting out and don't even have a physical piece of hardware out yet.

We need open hardware to become a thing if we ever want to be able to fully trust our computers.

Start with reddit's advertisers. Let them know all about the person they're supporting.

Show them the disgusting subreddits that still exist, the behavior endorsed and engaged in by SRS, etc. Lay it all bare. Hold nothing back.

Can we please sticky this? Reddit going down would send a clear message to other commercial enterprises that pandering to SJWs is toxic. And problematic.

SJWs can't afford to lose Reddit, and this is something we can achieve if we strike while the iron's hot.

I think we've hit Gawker pretty hard...so I think it's time to hit some other sites that went pretty much ignored. Destructoid and VG247 come to mind.

This. We should wait to see what happens to Gawker with the Hulk Hogan case and focus on other sites that havent changed their policies.

I disagree. The Hogan thing isn't a guaranteed win, and win or lose we should hammer Gawker. Instead of letting them focus on the Hogan case, make Gawker sweat it out between that and the potential loss of advertisers.

No. I want the Hulk to win the case, climb onto the podium, tear off his sleeves and then pile-drive denton into the courtroom floor.

Agreed. I think Destructoid wouldn't take much to fold and crumble.

Same here. A quick victory would help stir up the movement again and get more people involved.

If memory serves, they actually mentioned "soft advertising income" or something like that as the source of their current financial issues (in relation to the upcoming Hogan lawsuit). Don't quote me on it, though.

I was under the impression the next email op would be Operation Azure Orbs

This was supposed to kick off once we have the necessary dirt to turn polygon into an albatross around Vox Media's neck.

I'm down to do whatever but I don't have a lot of time to dig right now. I'll maybe have some more time soon, however if you pick a target and load up on info ammo, I'll sticky it up.

EDIT: I personally think we shouldn't target reddit yet. If/when they directly engage us (like banning off reddit), we should have the info ammo prepared, but I think we should wait to fire it off until then.
