Ever notice how some people have an amazing ability to deflect blame for their problems ?

A smart person might think, they are doing something wrong if they have to turn off comments on their website. I mean if the narrative you present keeps getting picked apart, it might be better to change it instead of trying to shut people up about it. Now that people aren't going to their site, it must be a plot.

Article is about a year old, but your point stands and the butthurt within the post is too fantastic not to enjoy a second time around.

* copyright

The act of copying something is the writing part, the last bit refers to whether you have the right to do so.

And yes, IP can all go die in a big fire as far as I'm concerned. It doesn't promote creativity or innovation (as it's proponents claim) it stifles them.

Thank Disney for caging the mouse. This why I will not go see the new Star Wars. And I'm one of the few who has the original trilogy on laserdiscs. Nothing has gone into public domain thx to the DMCA.

"Stupid gobergabbers, stop using archives and give us clicks for us insulting you so we can insult you a bit more!"

Edit: Realized just now that his this from back in 2014.

To be excruciatingly fair, after they misquoted the EFF, they DID post a note at the very bottom saying they updated the article.

Of course, to read the article as originally published, you will need to find it on an archive site.

The author helpfully pointed out that archive.today is a good place to find that capability.

This is the best advertisement for archiving links I have ever read. I was never interested and thought it was just a silly zealous tactic that was being used but I can see I am wrong about it. I will be more vigilant about using archive links now that I see it really does make a difference.

Not to mention, the archive preserves the site in the state it is seen in. If there's something fishy that goes on, and it's deleted without a word, and you need to reference it again for whatever reason, it's there for you.

lmao

You put your shit up on the internet for free so anyone can read it. Nobody else is profiting from what you write. If you thought "You wouldn't download a car" was ridiculous, this is like, "You wouldn't download a text document."

Good work team.
