First and foremost, Happy Thanksgiving to all the Americans here, hopefully you're enjoying your day, whether it be with family, friends, or by yourself.
That said, as you're all aware, the Holiday season is upon us, so this serves as a big period from a business perspective. The recent controversy surrounding DOAX3, and the followup events from it, makes me feel that pointing this out is especially important. Playasia is one of, if not the most recent company, to reject socjus authoritarianism. Obviously, this maneuver has given them some degree of results: Their followers on Twitter more than doubled in the span on 24 hours, and their numbers continue to grow. But follows on Twitter alone don't do much on their own, and this is where each one of you comes in:
Now's as good a time as ever to show companies that have taken a stand against censorship that their actions mean something to the consumers. How? Here's a few ideas:
- The obvious one, when doing holiday shopping, take a look at the products that the companies sell. You might find something that is of interest to a family member or a friend.
- Spread the word about these companies: Suggest them to your families/friends. Feel free to recommend companies in this very thread (and disclose if necessary, obviously).
- Spread this message (or similar) on other sites.
I think it's safe to say that a fair amount of the game industry (and some other industries as well) are watching how these sorts of actions taken by companies pan out. If they flop financially, other companies will be less likely to take similar stands, and just the opposite if they succeed.
In short, be the change you want to see in the industry.

Very, very well said. Happy Thanksgiving to you as well. In the end, I fully agree. We have to be that change because no one else will be. Indeed, I think if we can get the good companies rolling then others will no longer topple to the SJW regime. It is however, fairly hard to find out just which companies might deserve it. I for one know CD Projekt Red deserves our support as it seems they do not give two shits, they make a good story with beautiful women, amazing gameplay, and pull it all together. However are there any other major companies I should know about?
