I'm sure google could explain it better than I ever could but TL:DR:

Back when Gamergate was still new and Zoe Quinn still mattered there was (still is I assume) an organization called The Fine Young Capitalists (TFYC) who set about to support work by under represented people. Apparently they had some spat with Quinn and she was all angry at them. Anyways TFYC start an indigogo campaign to fund a game developed by women and in an attempted to legitimize gamergate and prove that it wasn't anti women, 4chan's /v/ board donated a bunch of money. Lots of drama happened after that.

Anyways one of the rewards of the indigogo campaign was that you could design a character that would be featured in the game. So some people on /v/ collectively designed a character for that but that would also represent gamergate as a whole. She was supposed to be a non sexualised average female gamer. The exact thing anti gamergaters accused gamergate of working against.

You can see here riding a walrus at the top of this page actually! Not too sure what the story is behind the walrus but I'm sure there is one.

Well the anime walrus lady thing was a former Kotaku logo. Back when Kotaku was still a little bearable.

Sealion, not walrus. It came from this comic in which a sealion was really annoying because a woman said she didn't like sealions. Aggros decided that anyone "pretending" (aka anyone who didn't "Listen and Believe") to engage in civil conversation were like the sealion in the comic and started using it as a verb meaning something along the lines of "disingenuously trying to converse civilly." Gamergate co-opted it as a mascot because it was funny and the pro-GG crowd has a tendency not to take things seriously (which is a good thing).

As Howard_Beale said, the logo at the top of the page is a spoof of the ancient Kotaku logo that they'd probably freak out about being "over-sexualized" nowadays.

Incidentally, this is the game that the Indiegogo campaign resulted in.
