I just think it's important to have a variety of places around. You want full-on Gamergate & Vidya, drama and all? Go to /Gamergate/. You want a place geared more towards the Ethics and general community discussion? Go to KiA. You want nothing but the dramz? Go to DramaInAction. Or mix all three up. Each board should be strict about their policies too. I mean, you can't go to /gamergate/ and start dictating the rules. Same as how you can't go to KiA and start acting like it's the Drama board. Each place is different, there will be an overlap in the communities and we'll have different kinds of discussions leading to different kinds of outcomes.

Ultimately I think the act of banning specific topics (or even trying to route them elsewhere) will be perceived negatively by the majority. People will whine about how the whole thing got enflamed because of censorship, yadda yadda yadda.
It is an exercise in making the board moderation tedious and fraught with misunderstandings. It just seems counterproductive to try and corral it.

On that first part, I was talking hypothetically :P Though, I will say that I think TB, and many others like him, rely on r/KiA to be a place to go to for quick and easy bulletinpoints on what's going on as it happens.
See, there kinda lies the rub, doesn't it? As KiA grew, it became less and less about the Ethics and more and more about the Drama. And when people want it to go back to Ethics, the new people slap them down and throw a fuss. This instead of the Pro-Drama people going somewhere that welcomes it. I mean, just look at the Mission Statement. That's why people went to KiA, not because miss Wu called someone an ass on the internet.
