This is regards to the ABC lying to the ACMA. For those not familiar, more information can be found here in r/KotakuInAction. I got this as a response from a Kieren Doyle - ABC Audience and Consumer Affairs. Did anyone else get a response from them?
In the e-mail it says:
Dear Mr _______
Thank you for your email regarding the 7.30 story GamerGate: facing misogyny in the video game world.
It is unclear why you waited 8 months from the date of this broadcast to submit your complaint to the ABC. I must advise that Audience and Consumer Affairs exercises its discretion not to investigate complaints that are made more than six weeks after the date the content was last broadcast or published by the ABC. Please note for future reference, that should you wish for the Corporation to consider a complaint and provide you with a substantive response, you must submit your complaint within the six week period and the closer to the date of the actual broadcast or report the better.
Nevertheless, you can be assured that I have forwarded your complaint to ABC News management for their consideration.
The ABC Code of Practice is available online at the attached link;
http://about.abc.net.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/CodeofPractice2013.pdf
Should you be dissatisfied with this response to your complaint, you may be able to pursue the matter with the Australian Communications and Media Authority http://www.acma.gov.au
Yours sincerely
Kieran Doyle
Audience and Consumer Affairs
