Reddit and Imgur are both fucking liars.

The new FPH subreddits are being banned for "ban evasion" even if the people who make them had nothing to do with the old FPH.

That screenshot is from one of the mods of one of the new FPH subreddits being told that "FPH is no longer welcome here," which sounds like banning an IDEA and not a BEHAVIOR.

Imgur was removing FPH posts the day before Reddit banned that subreddit. Removing them, not hiding them from the Imgur front page.

What is it with SJWs and being unable to tell the truth?

According to them, the reason they were removed is they used the "Publish" button on imgur. That publishes the pic to the larger imgur community and puts it under their discretion. As long as you just upload pics without publishing, they don't seem to care.

And SJWs have no reason to lie about something like that, right.

Just like how FPH was removed for behavior and not ideas.

Except, you know, Reddit doesn't actually have rules against ban evasion, but the fact that it's a site specifically meant to let you easily create and throw away persona's is a pretty good indicator that ban evasion is a design intent.

Free speech was a design intent, as pointed out by the late Aaron Swartz.

You're allowed to post your content

we don't allow gore, pornography, racism, sexism, harassment, or hate speech

"You're allowed to post your content! Except that we consider it harassment so you can't actually post it. Just kidding, haha!"

You could just post that Imgur is banning porn and see how fast it trashes the subreddit and sinks Imgur.

You're allowed to upload that content and link it, but you can't publish it to the imgur community.

Linking it to FPH was a problem though?

Hopefully this helps clear some things up.

Good, because if you didn't feel safe you'd be fucking banned.

Heh. "We don't censor content! Users click the 'report' button, then we censor". The distinction is kinda academic, I feel...

Imgur community just became their image censorship shield, Censorship by way of proxy and almost a form of plausible deniability.

"We didn't do it, our community did it ... we are just followed the rules ... you know totes not our fault"

FPH mod here. This was sent to us before the sub was banned, when we posted the imgur staff in the sidebar.

The issue we have with this is that if the imgur community has a problem with a published image, why not just remove it from their public listing, but still make it available for direct linking? They deleted the images completely and so the reddit threads that appeared on r/all had dead links on them, and that's what the problem was.

I completely agree, that's the one part that doesn't make sense to me. This could be an oversight on their part or an attempt at covering their ass.

The imgur community up voted tons of the FPH pictures to their front page. Their community wanted it there.

Yeah but a lot of them reported the images, and that's what got them removed. When they got to the front page of reddit, we just wiped our ass with the reports.

Logic is not the strong point of SJWs.

They actually said "we don't allow..." and "we're not policing your content" in the same post. Such an incredible feat of cognitive dissonance. They should win an award for that.

We don't censor content unless a few people complain. Then we totally do.

Thanks for clearing that up imgur, makes perfect sense. At least reddit admitted they're assholes, you're just blaming your users. Cravens.

I agree with that entirely. Even if you have rules, if nobody's complaining about them breaking, there's no reason to do anything about the 'offenders'. Removing content that's reported is totally fine. Start reposting content here and watch it get deleted.

There are rules, and rules are fine. They don't want hate speech of any kind, harassment, pornography, all of that. And that's fine. Deleting FPH posts is fine.

The issue here, isn't that they have rules and are enforcing them. It's that they're not. They're just using their rules as a protective wall to hide behind. There's tonnes of pornography and gore on there, but it's totally fine. Tonnes of racism and hate speech too, but it gets by just fine.

Ah the old tired "harassment" and "hate speech" canards.

From a structural standpoint, it is impossible to "harass" someone by posting to an image website, as "harassment" requires you to actively hound an individual, and posting to an image host does not do this

Then, of course, there's "hate speech". I consider it "hate speech" to publicly slander people protesting "fat acceptance" as "harassers"; Can we ban imagur from the internet as "harassers" now?
