Part of me remembering, outside of having good memory about such things, is that Wu was one of the few people vocally against GG that had any legs to stand on in terms of game development, whereas, for example, Quinn's sole "major" title could hardly be considered a game, and AS, among others, have developed nothing.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of false-flag that occurred within the next few days. I pre-emptively condemn any actions that go beyond criticism of the game itself (or civilized criticism of the developer, so long as it's kept separate from the game itself).
We'll see how the game ends up doing. Given Wu's shaky reputation, combined with GG not being as hot of an issue at it was back in 2014, I'm honestly predicting that it will break even at best. Regardless of how it does, though, hopefully Spacekat ends up producing more things. There's nothing wrong with a wide variety of titles from a wide variety of creators. Not everything will be a huge commercial success, but even filling smaller niches isn't a bad thing, as far as I'm concerned.
Personally, I'll probably avoid it, unless it's hugely changed from what footage already exists. Just doesn't seem like my type of game.
