My biggest issues with yarn overs is that they're so hard to tink. If I have to, I usually end up pulling out an extra row or two.

At least if you end up on a wrong side purl row you know what you have on your needles.
Someone once explained it to me that, "For most knitting you read the stitches horizontally across the needles. In lace, you read the stitches horizontally and vertically, down the length of your work".
