So a few months ago I had a bit of a drunken Saturday. I was fucking around on Voat and decided to play the 'Ol what will autocorrect say game.

Anyway @Armpit_and_Ass comes around and berates me for drinking and "bragging" about it on the internet. Yes, I'm calling you out Armpit, feel free to chime in. So no duh, drinking isn't a legitimate road toward self-betterment. Sometimes it's fun, so sue me.
Anyway my point is that yes shame is necessary for a healthy society. But it has to be applied appropriately for the desired results. I see the points of Armpit but he was being an undeserved dick.
Don't be a dick.
I'm not saying that people will flat out deny valid points for self-betterment with a stern message but sometimes a little lube is necessary.
