i agree that you own your body. as a consequence of that belief i hold the following stances. all drugs should be legal, suicide should be legal, prostitution should be legal, and abortions should be legal.

I agree. Very few things should be illegal. I believe this would also make society more responsible and less dependent.

But, the devastating effects of the drug mean that just after a few uses they will become a huge financial burden to society due to their healthcare cost. Now, if you are in the US where everything is paid and overpaid maybe you won't mind but here in Europe healthcare is free.

From what age are they legal. When does someone gain the right to destroy himself?

In other words when is a individual allowed to inflict psychological pain on his parents and other loved ones by going in a destructive spiral.

And what makes you the authority that says what I can and cannot do?

Talking about destructive spirals... then we should forbid fast food and sugar for everyone with a body fat percentage above 25%, and milk and all it's derivatives to all lactose intolerant people because i will cause them discomfort and cause anguish to their loved ones, and alcohol has to be outlawed because it causes a lot of destructive spirals, and tabaco because it causes cancer and that a destructive spiral, and... the list is endless.

I stand by what I said, it is my body and no one should be allowed to say what I can and cannot put in or on it.

I share the view on complete freedom of the self for any individual as long as it does not directly affect the safety of others. This includes euthanasia etc.

Just I include the suffering caused to others in my decision. It is terrible for a parent to see a child suffer from alcoholism or heroine. One is legal, one is not. That still leaves the question of when it becomes legal. 18 years old, 21 years old... The legal drinking age for beer and wine in Belgium is 16.

Age limits should be the main concern. The human body stops growing between the ages of 18 and 21 so I would choose 22 as the age limit for drugs.

And at 22 you have some life experience and have the mental capacity to make informed decisions. And with legalization comes investigation and better quality in all available products.

EDIT: I spent a bit of time thinking about your question about restrictions for parents with children. For pregnant women: Although it might seem like a good idea and make sense because it would impact the baby's life positively it would be an impossible mess to control. I think it would be the same as alcohol, coffee and smoking nowadays... not forbidden but not recommended. When you got pregnant doctors would advise you as they always do and some parents would be irresponsible assholes as some always are. :)

For parents: If the idea is to treat adults as adults then we have to believe they will act like adults.
