I have two growing here in east Texas. Just put them outside. No idea about how to grow peppers, these are probably sacrificial to help me figure out what I'm doing.

I'd suggest transfering to plastic. Those clay pots will dry right out, especially if the plants get bigger. Depending on your space and how big you want them to get, I'd go with a minimum of 3 gallon, or transplant them into the ground.
But don't sacrifice them! Do a search on: how to grow and fertilize hot peppers
