Try a farmers market or growing your own.

There's also a store brand of pickles called Bubbies that does a good properly fermented pickle. It's not really garlicky enough for my tastes, but add a few habaneros and smashed cloves of garlic to the jar then wait a month and they'll perk right up.

Yeah just give me a few decades to develop a frost tolerant cucumber.

I didn't realise you expect the world to end before next summer. You may just have to wait til the right season. Or build yourself a greenhouse.
