The only things I will add to @DeliciousOnions posts are to make the pots as large as you can afford. Plant roots love to grow and the more the roots grow, the healthier your plants will be. Larger pots also don't fluctuate so dramatically in heat. Think kiddie pool vs in ground pool on full sun.
