Hi Folks!
Not sure if this was common knowledge, as I just found out. But, baby powder (with talc) can be used to amend soil and keep animals out of the garden, and won't harm plants.
I work on a 25-acre estate where deer, armadillos and groundhogs run rampant, destroying nearly all of our plants. I sited a shaded garden area, planted some perennials and regularly sprinkle baby powder on the garden area. I also mixed a little into the soil after tilling.
So far, it is the only area of the property that has remained undisturbed. No digging, not even animals walking through the gardens. Nothing munching on the tender growth. I'm not sure how long this will last, as the animals tend to get used to whatever we use. Just thought it would help. Happy gardening!

It's weird. The bed has leaf mulch in it, so I can tell when something's dug/walked through it easily. So far, nothing, and the plants are growing.

Well, that's all that matters!
