I have been thinking about this lately and came to the conclusion that Kohinoor, besides its financial value, is an indisputable part of Indian culture. So, if Indian government decides to try getting it back by any means, what reasons would it have to give on a diplomatic level to claim its ownership on the diamond?
edit: I am not going over if India really has ownership on the diamond. I just want to discuss the diplomatic procedures that would be involved.
Thanks

From a practical point of view. It wasn't given away, the British stole it and many more.
But technically, the British just introduced a law that didn't allow the owner of the diamond to pass it on to his whoever was on his will. So they did lawfully take it away. A fucked up law nevertheless.
Honestly I feel this is just a waste of time and media is giving unrevealed attention to this topic. Let's just work with what our country has.
