I would add it is also, as the name of this sub states, a sense of identity, a sense self, of knowing who you are. Knowing that you are different, and taking pride in it. The loss of traditions, and in Europe of much national identities by merging into the EU, weakens this sense of self. For instance, as part of natural, healthy, psychological development, teenagers can feel lost & not know who they are. However, when this happens to a culture, it can die. I live in a libtard center; one person said "I'm a citizen of the world."; another said "All paths[meaning religions] are valid." These fools have no idea who they are, nor any appreciation for the culture that has nourished them.

With the caveat that I've not studied Nietzsche, I will say one wants a healthy level of self-interest at a national level, much like at a personal level. Constantly picking fights is not healthy. One needs a balance between aggression and passivity. I'm not seeing that nations need to expand and conquer to survive at this point in history. However, both individuals and nations need to act in their self-interest, and to strengthen themselves. (It was not that long ago, that Britain had enough pride to defend the Falklands; that Britain is gone.)

The Will to Power does not always have to be expressed in violence and war but if all other options fail it is certainly allowed to be brutal
