I went to elementary school in the 1980s. E.T. and Return of the Jedi was shown to my grade 3 class.
E.T. was banned in Scandinavian countries for encouraging kids to trust strangers. Girls hate boys who freckle and that forces them to befriend other kids who don't fit in. E.T. further encouraged them to hang around with minorities.
In 1990 rap music went mainstream. After all of the homophobia AIDS created blacks were suddenly very masculine. And 14-year-olds flew into a rage at those who had befriended minorities 1rst.
If you were a kid in the 1980s the first homosexual you met were the ones on TV. Luke being in love with his sister is repulsive to boys in grade 3. If you had a good-looking blond boy in the 1980s and if he had a sister who was 2 years older than him and average looking, she'd joke that he was gay. Sibling rivalry is forgotten years later. This would cause the blond boy to appreciate people who really were gay later on.
Hollywood and educators controlled the rise and fall of LGBT.
